Jamie's Italian Brisbane

Ive been twice at Jamie’s Italian restaurant. The service is really good, the environment is nice and the food is excellent.

All the dishes have the perfect ingredients mix to make the food delicious. If you know about Jaime Oliver’s style, you will find a lot of good ingredients he usually uses in his recipes.

I come from Italy and i have to say that there are traditional dishes on the menu and the tastes of home.

I have eaten spaghetti with vongole and they were amazing. You can also have a different dish of pasta every week for 10 dollars.  I’d like to go  there again and taste a different dish every time.

Nathan Mundraby

Nathan Mundraby

Recently I met an aboriginal artist, Nathan Mundraby and I went to see his studio. To be honest I felt speechless in front of one of his paintings, The bird dreaming, the colors are just amazing and the use of gold gives to the painting a special reflection and a magnificent play of lights. Then I turned to another painting The Billabong tree, it is a masterpiece. If you look at the painting in the whole or if you pay attention to details you wonder how long it takes to paint it, and you feel the energy of the colors used and the artwork majesty. For their big size I would see them hanging on a wall in a big livingroom, in a villa or a big apartment somewhere around the world. I would recommend to see his artworks in person to understand why his paintings are so unique.

Nathan Mundraby is a descendant of Jabulum Mandingalbay Clan – Yidinji Rainforest People and Lama Lama Tribe – Thaypan Country (Weipa South). He is also recognised and allowed to claim ownership to the Djirrbal Tribe – Ravenshoe/Upper Tully. Nathan is a 7th generation descendant of a proud Mandingalbay woman and Tablelands Yidinji/Djirrbal man. Nathan has the Djirrbal Indigenous given name of Midin (possum) given by his father’s mother – Dowiti Yarrakali. His Yidinji tribal name is Yabulam (black cane). He was named after a great tribal elder of generations past. Nathan was taught by his grandparents, parents and Aboriginal Elders of the ways of his ‘people’ through stories, dancing and art.

What the artist says about himself

My name is Nathan Mundraby. I am an artist and a didgeridoo player. I have performed with Hugh Jackman and have been travelling the world for my art. If I can do it, so can you. Don’t give up just because you have a knock back. Look for positive people and trust in yourself.

A paradise called Noosa

Noosa-Surf-www-1.iloveaustralia.it_-1-1024x341.jpg
Located on the Sunshine Coast, in the South east of the state of Qld in Australia, Noosa includes several suburbs: Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Sunshine Beach, Sunrise Beach and Tewantin.
Noosa is a tropical paradise, with a climate that reaches about 8 degrees in winter, and hot summers, interrupted by frequent showers.
What attracts the attention, is the relaxed lifestyle, if you walk along the river in Noosaville, you can not miss a good ice cream, or a flatwhite, at Thomas Corner. You can bring your own coffee along the promenade, where you can see people along the river fishing, sunbathing, drinking a glass of fine Australian wine relaxing on a picnic rug. Here the ultimate thing, is a picnic so, put your shoes off and sit on your picnic rug with a basket with cheese, crackers, salmon canapés and fruit or what best suits you, a good book or good music and watch the pelicans gliding on the water.
In Noosa you are spoiled for choice, starting with a river cruise, you can go for a ride with the jet ski or canoeing. The three main beaches are Noosa Main Beach, Alexandria Beach and Sunshine Beach. Going from Noosa Junction, you can go for a wonderful walk through the National park until you get to watch the breathtaking view of Alexandria Bay from the promontory of Noosa Heads, it’s an experience you can’t miss. Going down into the park, one is carried away by the atmosphere of vegetation, a mix of coastal plain, eucalyptus forests and rainforests, arriving directly in Hasting street. Here you can choose to sit in a local café drinking a delicious aperitifs with friends or go shopping along the windows of the town center, where there are clothing boutiques, restaurants and cafés. At this point you can choose to go to Main beach, where you can have some surf lessons and watch the sunset over the ocean, it’s a remarkable experience that you can’t miss, for the nature, the lights and the colors.
Where to spend an evening in Noosa
In noosa you can spend a classy evening in a good restaurant in Hastings Street, organize a barbecue or eat fish and chips along the river.
In Hastings street there are plenty of places where to spend the evening, as Cafe’ le Monde, Money Penny, Locale or Berardo. If you want a party atmosphere, then do not miss Sogo Bar with theme nights and live music.
The Italian cuisine is very popular in noosa , you can taste it at Waterfront restaurant or Italian Marina and you can also enjoy a good fish and chips along the river or a barbecue with friends in Gympie Terrace where you can take a tour of the shops and local restaurants. Here you can also find Chinese, Indian, Thai and Japanese cuisine.
In noosa Junction I recommend you to try at least once, a smoothie, at Pardons Fruit shop, right near the bus station.
You can’t miss a visit to Eumundi markets about 20 minutes by bus southwest of noosa. The market is on Wednesday or Saturday, here you can find from local handcraft to food, you can stop and listen to live music while enjoying a good juice of tropical fruit.
What’s Australians lifestyle like in Noosa? Getting up early and going surfing. Getting on the bus it’s more likely to find people with surfboards than with briefcases. Australians love to drink a glass of wine or beer, relaxing along the river or fishing or jogging with baby stroller that they bring at their pace.
If you want to take a walk, you can go near Yandina, but before getting into the vegetation it’s better to ask some local people or a local guide, there are wonderful sources of water that you can’t even imagine to find and routes that are not always outlined.
Among the excursions on your list there should be also Fraser Island where you can rent a jeep and sleep in tents and where it’s likely the sightings of dolphins and whales or snorkelling in lakes like the one of Mackenzie and Basin and visiting Eli Creek. Then there is the whale watching tours from Mooloolaba to see whales in their annual migration between Australia and Antartica and the visit to Australia Zoo where you can see koalas, kangaroos, snakes, possums, parrots and take pictures with few animals.
For a moment of relax you can spend some time at the beauty day spa in Noosa Marina. Here you will find a market on Sunday from 8 am to 2 pm and you can sit and drink coffee in a relaxed atmosphere.

Blue side of Los Lopez

1103967886
When I usually listen to a cd I get immediately an idea about the songs, a kind of sensation that brings me inside every single track dimension. There are always some peculiarities that attract me immediately and make important the listening.
The travel that you run through “Blue side of Los Lopez” is a deep one. The album has the same name of the band, that recently  fulfilled the new cd in the recording studio.
The name literally means the side blues of los lopez, but don’t let us be influenced by the name and let’s begin with the tracks listening.
If you dream to be on a tropical beach or dream to surf in the south seas, this is your kind of music. If you dream an adventure holiday, you’ll love listening to this music. It’s a kind that I’d download in my i-pod visualizing planning the beginning of an amusement holiday, or a weekend with the idea to take it easy with life. These songs will be with you during this journey, easy records, that you’d download in your i-pod while you’re thinking to something both crazy and amusing to do.
Music gives inspiration, of course, as the songs good vibrations that you’re listening to, give the right strength and the right energy to understand where you’re going to.
“My chicken wonna play the blues”, is the first song from their album “Blue side of los lopez”, between blues and country, it reminds me something like Billy Ray Cyrus, perfect atmosphere for amusing parties with friends on the beach. It gives the right energy to leave for that journey that we hadn’t planned to do, to experience something unexpected, so let’s be involved to this crazy music and let’s begin this journey. So all along the ride, you listen to your “easy”, rhythm and involving song, with the precise message, – life is easy – so you sing the song without knowing the words, this is it, if you sing a song without knowing the lyrics it’s the right one, because you’re enjoying to listen to it. The instrumental part is really lively and at the same time you seem to be at a party ehre where everybody enjoy themselves and listen to nice music. Ivo, “Blue side of Los Lopez” singer has a clean and well balanced voice, he admitted to enjoy a lot during his performance as a singer, he doesn’t consider singing as a technique, but as a feeling, an attitude, like he was taking all the energy of a precise moment. Like a surfer takes the right wave, the music finds the right harmony in every song telling about an intense journey. Listening to “Mama Tell me”, I imagine an earthy way, where the road is not asphalted, a concert at some festival at the seaside somewhere around the world, this is a scanned and involving music. There is something in common among Ben Harper, Jason Mraz and also Blue side of los lopez, if you’re asking to yourself what it is, the answer is really easy. The melodic and flowing way of singing at the same time this is the kind that I call “easy”.
“Slow rusted blade”, is both a soft and fierce song. When I listen to music it happens that I imagine a kind of habitat, that depends from musical influences. In this song I imagine the red hearth, the blue sky, typical places that you can find in Mexico or Australia, where the essential colours are the sea’s green water the reddish earth and the wild country.
“Heaven in My Home” has the right rhythm between country and blues, taking influences from Texas, you don’t have to travel so much to catch all these emotions because they all are summarized inside this melodic and lively song. If you find yourself in Texas, you’ll feel like home, through the song you can feel people roots, and you’ll see life through simpleness and  substance.
A Blue Side of Los Lopez gig is something you can’t miss, it’s a long journey you’ll live through their music, you’ll feel pushed from their rhythm and caught from their songs.
Like a surfer who’s looking for the right wave, he would go everywhere to find the right wind. This is the same thing, so relax, take it easy, and listen to Blue Side songs, if you feel pushed to dance don’t tell me I didn’t advise you. This is the right music to find the right wave. Let be involved by this rhythm and don’t tell me you’re not really enjoying it.
